Winter is Back and So Are We

The arrival of winter was somewhat unimpressive, but truly welcome none-the-less. They teased us with a threat of 6-14 inches of snow at first call.....what a treat to say the least..........
As storm got closer.......they downgraded it to 4-8 inches of snow.......we could live with that!
What did we actually get ......?....lots of freezing rain and about an inch of sleet. oh well, at least it quit raining.
Temps?????? kind of the same story. They teased us with cold snowmaking temps all weekend.......Never happened.... The forecasted upper teens in reality were the upper 20's 3 nights in a row........What a long tedious weekend.
We survived and got an unexpected dusting of snow on MLK day and superb snowmaking temps overnight........We are back........
I predict winter will stay with us until mid-March.....We'll see.....

Who's The Grumpy One

OK.........I am sick and tired of being called grumpy........
Never mind that we are in day 34 of the heat wave!!!!!!!
If the truth be known, Momma Nature is the Grumpy one! How else can you explain that we have been deprived of the Winter Wonderland that we so truly cherish here in the Quad Cities!
If I seem Grumpy.......... it is Mother Nature's Fault!

So weather talk Is boring, Huh?????

You have heard people comment that life is so boring that they have talk about the weather. Interesting comment in view of the fact that weather has such an impact on all of us. Simply ask 200 of my employees who are out of work, many of which have had to hit the unemployment office to make ends meet.
We are now approaching 30 staright days of weather that resembles anything but winter. In that time frame, the overnight lows and daytime highs have been consistently about 17 degrees above normal........ not sure what normal is anymore! Take that same scenario and apply those conditions to a mid-summer time frame. That would translate into a 30 day period where the overnight lows anveraged 85 degrees and the daytime highs averaged 102 degrees. I am not talking about a couple 100 degree days here.........I am talking about a 30 day period of 100+ degree temps. That would be something to talk about.
