Another Farewell

Earlier I discussed the sadness of seeing Kunkels having to close their doors. The farewells continue. This summer has seen 2 well established ski areas in our part of the country call it quits. Both have struggled in recent years, but we all thought the troubles were only temporary.
The auction at Little Switzerland Ski Area just outside of the Milwaukee marked a sad day for the Midwest ski industry. I am sure it was not a fun day for the Herte family as they saw an end to more than 50 years of operation.
Fun Valley over in Montezuma, Iowa also closed its doors. The Bryant family will be missed by all of us that have had the pleasure of getting to know them. We wish the Bryant family all the best as they focus their attention elsewhere. I for one will miss having Kelly Bryant as a sounding board for ideas..............
