We Will Miss You
It has been quite some time since I have posted............my bad!
Anyway, we are still here and anxiously gearing up for the upcoming season........we are do for a real winter don't ya think?
I was informed of some very sad news yesterday. It was in regards to the closing of Kunkels Sports Center. I have known Craig, Todd, Jan and their family for many years and it truly was one of those businesses that treated you like family. You became a friend more than a customer. All of you will be missed.
It reflects a trend that has seen family operations quietly disappearing and going by the wayside. The availability of cheap ski equipment on the internet I am sure played a role. What we forget is that...........yes we can save a buck, but who will mount our bindings?..........who will fine tune those skis after grinding on those rails?
Your service and your smiles will be missed. Best wishes from all of us at Snowstar as you move forward..............

I heard from Jill (ski instructor type) that Kunkels was closing. I drove over the next day to see what was going on.
I find it sad that i will not have a place to find the hardware i need to fix my boards when i bash them up, and the people with experience that exceeds my own. Kunkels hosted professionals of their sports and were always a good source of information. And where else can you look, hold and feel what your skis and boards were going to be like? I have yet to see the internet mount a pair of bindings.
You will be missed my friends... Now where am i going to find all my spyder gear?! =(
