Oh How Fun It Is
What a wonderful run of weather. All the snow we have been getting has been true powder. Tuesday's storm which came with easterly winds dumped 6 inches of fresh powder in this neck of the woods. Why was the wind direction of significance?
Here is why..........with the way the terrain is situated at the area, an east wind blows the snow across the top and dumps it at the breakover of the headwalls.....
When you have dry snow and an east wind you end up with singificant powder on the hills. We literally skied in thigh deep powder on the upper portion of several of the trails on Tuesday. A true Midwestern experience that is rare and oh so much fun!
What lies ahead............check this out............more fun for sure!

An Alberta Clipper will advance from the Canadian Rockies on Thursday into the northern Plains of the U.S., then the East at the end of this week. It will bring a fresh covering of snow. Like most Clippers, this storm will be quick, with most areas receiving less than six inches of snow. As the storm moves toward the coastline, snowfall will diminish.
Enjoy it while we can..........!

Much appreciate the kind words… I’ve been trying to really make use of our natural terrain this year in the park… look for some nice improvements next season. On top of that… look for a few changes before this weekend =D its really time to go big or go home… Anyone have inflatable alligators? I need to borrow a couple for a few weeks. >=)
